Single-Organization Customer-Use License

License Grant

The Board Pro grants the purchaser a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use and customize the materials for the internal needs of one nonprofit organization, company or other legal entity.

The purchasing organization may:
 

• Download and store the materials on its internal systems.

• Customize the editable tools with the organization's name, logo and information.

• Print and reproduce copies for its board members, employees and authorized volunteers.

• Use completed or customized versions of the tools in its own board recruitment and governance activities.

• Share the materials with a consultant or contractor working directly for the purchasing organization, provided that person uses them only for that engagement.

 

Use by Multiple Organizations

Each purchase covers one organization only. A parent organization, chapter, affiliate, member organization, grantee or client is considered a separate organization unless The Board Pro provides written permission for broader use.

 

Funders, associations, consultants and other entities wishing to provide the materials to multiple organizations must purchase an institutional or multi-organization license from The Board Pro.

 

Prohibited Uses

 

The purchaser may not:

 

• Resell, sublicense, rent or commercially distribute the materials.

• Share the original or customized files with another organization.

• Post the materials on a public website, shared resource library, file-sharing platform or open online community.

• Use the materials to create a competing toolkit, course, training program or commercial product.

• Use the materials to provide paid consulting, facilitation or training services to clients without written permission from The Board Pro.

• Remove The Board Pro's copyright notices, branding or other ownership information from the original materials.

• Claim authorship or ownership of the original content, framework or templates.

 

Ownership

 

The Board Recruitment Starter Kit, including its written content, templates, worksheets, design, framework and branding, is owned by The Board Pro and protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws.

 

Purchasing the Starter Kit provides permission to use the materials as described in this license. It does not transfer ownership of the materials or the underlying intellectual property.

 

The purchaser owns the organization-specific information it adds to the templates.

 

No Legal or Professional Advice

 

The materials provide general educational and governance guidance. They are not legal, tax, accounting or employment advice. Organizations are responsible for reviewing their bylaws, policies, applicable laws and individual circumstances and for obtaining professional advice when appropriate.

 

No Guarantee of Results

 

The Board Pro does not guarantee that use of the materials will result in the recruitment, selection or retention of any particular board member or produce a specific organizational outcome.

 

Violations and Termination

 

This license ends automatically if the purchaser violates these terms. Upon termination, the purchaser must stop using and distributing the materials and delete or destroy all unmodified copies in its possession.
